Back in 2007 we bought a house in Norman’s Cove/Long Cove…after renovating the house, and adding an adjacent art studio we have done annual trips to the island, and travelled throughout the province… Destinations including Fogo Island, Trinity, Salvage, Rocky Harbour, Brigus, Renews, Cappahayden, Hearts Content …and of course, St. John’s offer such wonderful landscapes that we stay for a weekend or a week scouting out the best scenes and compositions for the canvas. The charm of the Newfoundland people is always on display regardless of where we travel….and it is never unusual to see Aunt Bes coming out to the road with a cup of hot tea while I am working on a painting.
